| Towering above the docks at White Star Line's Berth 44, the Titanic recieves her cargo and passengers and makes final preparations before raising steam and being assisted out of the docks by the tug boat Vulcan, once free of her moorings, she steams down the wharf approaching the ships Oceanic and New York, moored side by side and out of service due to the soon ending coal strike. as she approaches these two vessels, the suction created by her massive bulk sucks the New York toward the side of her hull....this was considered a bad omen for the beginning of Titanic's maiden voyage. |
